Taking the first step to sharing our course

Here’s one of our first blogs documenting our journey to starting this company. We found so much value and confidence in reading other people’s journies. The good, the bad, and the great.

Let’s talk about iteration.

Iteration…this seems to be a big buzzword in the tech world at the moment. Iteration means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. Let us tell you what it means to us.

To us, iteration is getting the least amount of work out to the world that provides the most value and improving it over and over and over until it’s perfect. That’s assuming perfection is something you can achieve. Some would compare this initial step to the 80/20 Principle (We love this book). In a nutshell, this is where you do 20 percent of the work for 80 percent of the results. Then reanalyze priorities and do the same thing. Rinse and repeat. And you have iteration!!!!!!

We’ve been working on this course for quite some time. Finally, we decided it was time to share it with the world. Is it perfect? No. Can it be improved? Of course. But, it’s out there and we’re moving.

We intended step 1 to have…

Users to pay for the course, log in, and view the content on our site.

This is definitely on the roadmap, but we had to settle with getting it out a little bit earlier via a downloadable PDF on GumRoad. And to be honest, we couldn’t be happier we did.

In reality, in step 1 we were able to…

Convert our course into a PDF to sell on gumroad.com.

If you’re interested in checking it out, here’s the link

The next step for us is to…

Move the content to our website, myfirstbusiness.io.

This is important because the content improves over time and we want YOU (our customers and friends) to have access to the most up-to-date content. Also, we can make the content more fun and engaging with videos and visuals on our website.

We’re so glad we started sharing, we’ve already received so much excellent feedback, questions, and suggestions.

Some of which, we would have never come up with ourselves and we’ve decided to work these ideas into our roadmap and current implementation.

Thanks for reading!
